UPDATE: Corporate presentation and Marketing support for presentations
Dear fellow penguins,
Preparing powerful and convincing presentations that create impacts for speaking opportunities and for client meetings, as well as for proposals and tenders, is an essential part of our business, of any business.
After review of the current practice of Marketing’s involvement in producing presentations, as well as the general presentations Marketing supplies to the rest of the business, I would like to announce the following changes:
- Marketing has prepared this guideline for you to build effective presentations
- When building presentations, please keep the purpose (will you hold the presentation? will it be sent to a client? will it serve as a proposal?) and the audience (clients, prospects, event attendees, etc.) in mind. This will inform the scope, content, and length of your presentation. Please always try to keep it short and limit the amount of text on slides.
- In terms of presentations that Marketing supplies to the company, we will limit it to:
- The South Pole ‘at a glance’ presentation. This is a short overview of who we are, what we stand for and what we do . We will discontinue to supply a more in-depth “corporate presentation” focusing on the practices (previously known as products). For any information on these practices, what they do, and how this is communicated, please contact the practice leads. The Marketing champion of this presentation is me, Tom. Marketing will translate this presentation into Swedish, Spanish and German.
- The South Pole thought leadership presentation, which will be updated shortly. The Marketing champion of this presentation is Florian Reber. This presentation will only be available in English.
- Case study library: overview presentation of work we’ve done for different clients, with one case per slide
- Project slide library: presentation of our emissions reduction projects. This also exists in Spanish and German. Additional projects can be translated on request
- Hero project slides: high-level presentation of slides in a visual and engaging format
- Marketing offering for our clients: Master presentation. This summarises the Marketing offering for clients
- Other than these presentations, Marketing will not produce any presentations unsolicited. We are of course available for designing your presentations based on your inputs and slides.
- For speaking opportunities, Marketing will not build unsolicited presentations any more either. We will focus on speaking points that we can share with the speaker as inspiration. If, after discussion, a presentation is needed, Marketing can work with the speaker to make it happen.
