Penguin Carrier Intro February 2018

Hello Penguins,

Climate change is probably the most used word in our vocabulary here at South Pole. When you think about the global issue every day like we do, we tend not to be alarmists and picture scenes like this. But every now and then we do get a reminder of just how serious our global climate issue is, and exactly what we’re fighting for in the first place. There is no more ice north of Greenland where the thickest sea ice of the Arctic used to be. At the same time, “The Beast from the East”, a current chill in Europe has been caused by a “sudden stratospheric warming” above the North Pole, bringing daily temperatures across the continent, even in the Mediterranean, to below zero. Our European colleagues are feeling the cold, but we’re all feeling the significance of such weather changes.

Climate action must continue, and that’s why we’re here. Wishing you a productive month in the cold, let’s change the future together!
