Hello Penguins,

And just like that, the year is over quicker than Trump’s commitments to climate change. Looking back, it’s hard to condense all that’s happened into one paragraph – both globally and within our wonderful iceberg. One thing is certain: it’s been a huge year for South Pole in the climate space. We kicked the year off expanding our presence in Australia and London, then broke into the new Colombia carbon market with a bang, and massively ramped up our RECs business. We sold our beloved investment portfolio footprinting business but immediately launched a climate risk advisory offering instead. We brought our A-game as official media partners for UN Climate Change at the COP23 and we also welcomed the launch of the biggest carbon market in the world!

If that wasn’t enough, this year we also helped reduce over 9 million tonnes of CO2 from entering the atmosphere, bettered thousands of lives in developing communities and channelled a whole lot of finance into sustainable initiatives all over the world. We’re all here for the same reason: we want to live in a better world, one that doesn’t resemble aburning inferno. And you know what? 2017 might just have taken us one step closer to that kind of future.
