MASCO Update January 2017

Dear Penguins,

It is a pleasure to finally write it down, black on white: the integration of Climate Friendly’s carbon and renewables business into South Pole Group is now a reality. While some administrative housekeeping items around onboarding new penguins (‘Climate Friendlies’) and harmonising our branding are still ongoing, we look confidently into the future. We can finally serve our global client base under one strong, unified (penguin) brand. We can leverage this increased potential in our outreach to clients, prospects and the market in general.

On a separate note, MASCO has also decided on a small rearrangement of the operations units: as stated in my email sent on Jan 23, we have now merged the Consultancy / Services, and Products / Portfolio units into one Operations unit. This creates a truly global ‘operations setup’, thanks to which we can continuously develop and deliver all of our products, and better manage the deals we run across the globe. From now on, the further development of our offering will be driven by “Product Directors”, who will each coordinate a product group. In close cooperation with myself, they will shape our product strategy and ensure its appropriate implementation.

Finally, in order to free up more of my time for strategy and corporate-level topics, a new decision body, the “Operations Management“ consisting of two co-COOs, will be established. The Operations Management body will be responsible for all questions related to operational issues (company-wide), and a new decision matrix is currently being finalised to support this change. The two Co-COOs will be the Director Operations and the Director Central Functions.
